ROOFTOP DECK AND GARDEN
This urban oasis softens the sounds of city life and overlooks the Charles River. The rooftop deck and garden offers homeowners a serene outdoor living space with a distinctive feature, seamlessly linking the main house to the green roof atop the garage. Custom built-in planters complement the design, providing elevated planting areas where homeowners can add their personal garden picks seasonally. Hardwood deck tiles provide a durable base for lounging and dining while the semi-intensive green roof hosts a variety of deeper-rooted flora, including Sea Pink, Cinquefoil, and Catchfly alongside traditional shallow, extensive plants like sedum and thyme. Together, this bio-diverse plant palette forms an upper-story canopy, providing beneficial shade to the ground cover plants. The green roof biomass increases outdoor living space and naturally cools the ambient air, ideal for enjoying private views of the annual 4th of July fireworks on the Esplanade and the tranquil days in between.
